Two consecutive days of immersing yourself in the art of handstand. Day one we will cover all of the checkpoints of the body that need to become aware in order to understand life upside down. This will breakdown your handstand into intricate parts so that when your feet leave the ground you bring with you all of your body’s innate wisdom to balance in any unknown situation. Day two will be playful work towards overcoming the fear of handstand. We do this by practicing the art of falling out rewiring the brain to KNOW that there is a safe escape route. Additionally, we will work through drills towards kicking up and pressing into handstand.
This is an ALL LEVEL workshop. All drills have beginner, intermediate, and advanced variations.
ABOUT KARA: Kara pulls handstand knowledge from the intricately aligned German acrobats whom she studied with for one month in Berlin. The basis of all acrobatics IS handstand.. meaning that her intensive training required hours per day practicing and understanding this alignment. After years diving into acrobatics she decided to deepen her practice even more completing her AcroYoga International 200 Hour Training with Jason Nemer where she learned how to teach every aspect from fingers to toes. Finally, the most important part, tying in the intuition of yoga, her 6 years of teaching a style of yoga that puts the postures second to feeling adds the perfect touch of bodily wisdom to her teachings. She believes that the best thing you can do for your handstand is get out of your head and into your body.
